Our mission is to deliver essential resources and services to seniors 65 years of age and older, living within a six-mile radius of the MGM Hotel in District 8—efficiently, professionally, and with the utmost courtesy.

The District 8 Community Care Center
is here to help by focusing on three pillars we believe are
essential in providing financial support to seniors 65+.

Pillar I- Social Services
The Senior Support Fund will focus on providing financial assistance for essential needs, enabling seniors to remain in their homes, maintain stability of other social economic factors. The program will assist with:

Mortgage, rental, property tax, and utilities assistance for seniors facing financial hardships.

Transportation services for seniors, ensuring they have reliable access to medical appointments, social
events, and community programs.

Other essential services: This includes a range of flexible support options for seniors, such as assistance
with home maintenance, accessibility modifications, or activities of daily living (“ADLs”)—whatever is
needed to improve their quality of life.

Pillar II – Education
​
Education plays a crucial role in empowering seniors to live independently, safely, and confidently. The program will offer a series of workshops and services on topics highly relevant to their lives. These include:

Estate planning workshops that help seniors protect their assets and ensure their
wishes are properly documented.

Technology training to help seniors stay connected with family, friends, and
essential community services in the digital age.

Fraud prevention and scam avoidance, educating seniors on how to protect
themselves from financial exploitation and scams.

Health and wellness workshops, offering information on preventive care,
managing chronic conditions, and promoting healthy lifestyle choices.

Financial literacy workshops, equipping seniors with the tools to manage their
finances, understand credit, and avoid financial pitfalls.
Pillar III - Recreation

Recreation is essential in keeping seniors active, engaged, and connected to the community. The program will offer a
wide range of recreational activities that promote physical, mental, and social well-being, such as:

Social enrichment activities, including bingo, pickleball, and casino trips,
provide fun, companionship, and opportunities for seniors to connect with their
peers.

Organized events, such as local festivals, concerts, and community celebrations,
ensuring that seniors remain active participants in county life.

Fitness and wellness programs in collaboration with local health and fitness
centers encourage seniors to stay physically active and healthy.

Transportation for recreational events, ensuring that seniors can attend these
activities without the burden of arranging logistics themselves.
